Australian Conservation Foundation – Arguably one of Australia’s cuddliest looking critters, wombats are more than just a cute face and these furry marsupials are the poster child for “don’t judge a book by its cover.”
The wombat is related to koalas, kangaroos, and Tasmanian devils.
A group of wombats is called a mob.
They have very slow metabolism. it can take up to 14 days to digest a meal!
They are fantastic diggers and spend most of their time underground in their burrows.
All three species of wombat are protected under Australian law.
