U.S. Environmental Protection Agency – Conceived in 1972 to celebrate, learn, and help the planet that supports us, World Environmental Education Day is celebrated every January 26th to identify local and global environmental issues and raise awareness about the need for participation in order to conserve and protect the environment.

Environmental education is a process that allows individuals to explore environmental issues, engage in problem solving, and take action to improve the environment and as a result, develop a deeper understanding of environmental issues to make informed and responsible decisions.
