How to Celebrate, Where to Donate, and More

smithsonian

Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute – You’ve probably never heard of International Zebra Day, which happens on January 31 to raise conservation awareness and show people why this animal deserves to be recognized.

The goal of the day is to help raise awareness about the zebra’s plight so that they can be preserved and protected, and there are a number of animal conservation organizations out there today in the business of helping this magnificent animal.

Celebrate International Zebra Day by dressing in (faux) zebra stripes, throw a zebra themed party, make zebra themed food, or help spread the word about these amazing animals!
