Celebrating International Wolf Day

The Conversation – 100 years ago, celebrating wolves would have seemed ridiculous, even dangerous. But a lot has changed in the intervening years and today most people have positive attitudes toward wolves.
Interestingly, these feelings are remarkably even across gender, income, and even voting party preference. Canada apparently is a country of wolf lovers, which is perhaps unsurprising given that wolves have remained abundant, occupying nearly 80 per cent of their historic range.
Wolves are a noble, affectionate, and playful species who live in families much like our own and are deserving of a day of celebration!
