KIII-TV – A study funded through Clean Coast Texas and led by researchers at the Harte Research Institute will explore ways to redirect stormwater runoff and treated city wastewater currently flowing through Tule Creek into Little Bay.
Little Bay is a shallow estuary popular among anglers, kayakers and tourists have long been on the receiving end of runoff pollution. Environmental leaders hope the study will lead to realistic affordable solutions.
The feasibility study is expected to consider multiple alternatives for rerouting water and is expected to be completed by next spring.
