Urban neighborhoods recorded summer temperatures in 2025
Dallas Observer – The Office of Environmental Quality and Sustainability’s two-year heat-island mapping project has found that many of Dallas’ urban neighborhoods experience summer temperatures 12 degrees hotter than the city’s greener areas.
Extreme heat is a leading cause of weather-related deaths in the United States and city leaders should allocate cooling resources and/or weather relief shelters for the unhoused in the summer months.
We all know Texas summers are hot, but just how unbearable your dog days are could be determined by the part of town you live in.
